All students are eligible to receive the benefits of a school counseling and guidance program, which is an integral part of the total educational experience. Each child has access to services that are developmental in nature, preventive in design, and comprehensive in scope. Every student will have access to counseling and guidance services so that they may be challenged and supported to be the very best individuals they can become.
Elizabeth Chambers is the full-time counselor in grades three through six at Pine Level Elementary School. She received her Bachelors of Science Degree in elementary education at the University of Tennessee and her Masters of Arts Degree in Guidance and Counseling from Troy State University in Montgomery. She had taught elementary school grades one through six in various states for many years before becoming a counselor at Pine Level Elementary in 1997. Mrs. Chambers is an avid reader, loves spending time with family, and especially enjoys working with children.
Grades 3-6
Kathy Hill is the full-time counselor in kindergarten through second grade at Pine Level Elementary School. She has a Bachelors of Science degree in Elementary Education and a Masters degree in School Guidance and Counseling. She taught first grade for twenty-five years at Prattville Primary School Before becoming a counselor at Pine Level Elementary School in 2003. She and her husband James are members of First Baptist Church in Prattville, and together they serve as Sunday School teachers at a juvenile delinquent boot camp here in Autauga County. She loves to read and spend time with her grandchildren.

GUIDANCE AND COUNSELING CALENDAR
1. Disseminate information to parents and teachers concerning guidance activities
2. Maintain parent information in an attractive and accessible manner
3. Supply teachers/staff with special drug education and social/education materials
4. Attend counselor in-service meetings and professional workshops
5. Attend and actively participate in PTA meetings
6. Assist in special education placement process
7. Assist in student evaluation using all appraisal information available
8. Consult with principal and faculty concerning school guidance activities
9. Make appropriate referrals to other individuals and /or agencies
10. Prepare guidance information for newsletters
11. Plan and conduct individual counseling sessions
12. Assist teachers with parent conferences
13. Observe individual students or groups of children within the school setting to help evaluate behavior and/or educational needs
14. Consult with parents and teachers to help identify and resolve apparent needs
15. Prepare and distribute a monthly calendar to teachers and administer
16. Classroom guidance
17. Coordinate and manage the volunteer tutoring program
18. Coordinate the #504 and ESL programs
19. Coordinate the violence and prevention programs with teachers
20. Coordinate the Drug Education Documentation forms with teachers and Central Office every nine weeks
