         Materials and Equipment Policy

• Equipment is checked out both short and long term depending on frequency of use and availability or equipment.

• Some equipment is assigned permanently to individual classrooms because of their use on a daily basis.

• Teachers sign up for TV/VCRs in the media center. Equipment should be returned to the library by the end of the school day.

• Due to the limited number of certain pieces of equipment there needs to be a daily check-out and return of these. Equipment will be assigned on a first come, first serve basis.

• No students under 16 years old is permitted to move TV/VCRs/TV Disk Players. All TVs are secured with  straps. Straps are not to be removed.

• Circulation sheet for equipment checkout is in the library office.

• Please exercise caution in the use and handling of all electrical equipment, students should never be left unsupervised with library equipment.

The following equipment is available in the media center.

(1) 4-TV-VCR units

(2) 2-16mm projectors

(3) 4-cassette tape players

(4) 13-computers and 3 printers

(5) 2-over-head projectors

(6) 1-copy machine, 1- Projector screen, and 5- transparency viewers

(7) 4- DVD Players

    The following equipment is not available in the school library, but we would like to have the following: slide projectors, video equipment, film-strip projector, Opaque projector, camera and fax machine. Funds have not been available to replace these items in the library budget. Plans were formulated for the addition of new computers in the library. As of the 2007-2008 school year an additional nine new computers were added. Plans were also formulated to switch all computers in the media center over to an automated system, the plans came through and the new automated system was installed. Suitable furniture for computers will also be a priority when ever funding is available.
