9th Grade

World History and Geography Since 1500

    This is a study of world history from 1500 to the present and is organized chronologically with topics that focus on critical issues in the history of the world during those times. Students will gain an understanding and appreciation of history as an exciting story of people much like themselves at other times and places.

10th Grade

United States History I

    This course is the first part of a two-year sequence beginning in the tenth grade. The course covers the historic development of American ideas and institutions from the Age of Exploration to 1900.

11th Grade

United States History II

    This course provides a study of the development of America from 1900 to the present. Emphasis is placed on the nation's economic and political growth, foreign policy, social change, cultural and intellectual achievements and outstanding individuals and their contributions to America.

12th Grade

American Government

    American Government is a course required for the twelfth grade. It includes a description and an analysis of the government of the United States. Emphasis is placed on the development of the concepts contained in the Constitution and the relationship between the government and the people of the United States.

Economics

    Economics is a course required for twelfth grade. It provides students with detailed knowledge in the workings of modern-day economic systems, in particular the American capitalist system. It covers basic economic concepts, business and labor relations, monetary and fiscal policy, and a comparison of world economic systems.

9th-12th Grade

Current Events

    This course is the study of activities and events in our nation, state, and the world. Students will have an opportunity to learn from and appreciate the various types of media in today's world.
